I sent this home with Chrissi and Walt, so they will have to chime in on how well it came out!

Tar Heel Pie
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs, beaten

1. Preheat the oven to 350°

2. Pour the warm melted butter over chocolate chips and stir to melt.

3. Blend all remaining ingredients and stir into chocolate chip mixture.

4. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 to 40 minutes.


Graham Cracker pie crust
- 1 1/2 cups finely ground graham cracker crumbs
- 1/3 cup white sugar
- 6 tablespoons butter, melted

1. Mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter until well blended . Press mixture into an 8 or 9 inch pie plate.

2. Chill for about 1 hour before adding the chocolate pie filling.

  1. Un-freakin-believable. This is so ooey-gooey inside and the crust held up like no graham cracker crsut I've ever tried before. I'm not kidding when I say I will be your first customer when you open a bakery and start selling these.=D

  2. More notes on this. In the fridge, it firmed up to the consistency of a super thick, fudgey brownie. Reminds me of Chocolate Nemesis Cake actually. Very thick and rich!

  4. Not served cold, but chilled before cutting, then served more at room-tempish. =) The chocolate just has to set to get the right consistency and it can't do that without a little chill on it.
